Salt Dough Stars Recipe*

 1. Mix 2 cups flour with 1 cup salt. Cinnamon may be added for a darker dough.
 2. Gradually add 1 cup of water.
 3. Mix well and knead for 5 min.
 4. Roll out on a floured board until approximately 1/4" thick.
 5. Cut out with a star shaped cookie cutter.
 6. Lay out on a cookie sheet to air dry, turning frequently (this can take a few days).
 7. Once the stars have hardened you can paint them with acrylic paint or dip them in unscented or scented wax. I make candles so I dip mine in soy wax but you can also use paraffin. I scent mine with candle fragrance oil and add a little coffee candle dye to make them look more primitive.

  • I just made a batch of these and WOW does one batch make alot of stars!! I can hardly wait for them to dry so I can start painting and dipping!! Some of these will definitly be put away for stocking stuffers for some friends of mine!!
