Tea dying your fabric gives it a nice light tan look. You can stain your fabric before or after you create something with it. Bring a pot of water to a boil on your stove (as much water as you think you'll need for the specific project), then remove from heat. Add in your tea bags (amount depends on how much water you used, add 1-2 tea bags for about every cup of water). Let sit for about 5-10 minutes, then stir and press the tea bags to release the tea. At this point, you can also add in scented oil if you desire. Put your fabric into the tea, and let sit for a few minutes. The longer you keep it soaking, the darker it will be; but remember it will dry a bit lighter than it looks when wet. When you are happy with the color, squeeze out the excess tea, then put your fabric in the dryer to dry (or you can line dry it). Make sure you wipe out your dryer after you're done to make sure there's no tea residue in your dryer. If you'd like to stain after creating, just paint the tea onto your item and let air dry.
